Turgut TunaHe studied at İstanbul State Academy of Applied Fine Arts through 1966-1970. He was the student of Prof. Hakkı İzzet, Lect. Faruk İşman, and Dr. Karl Schlamminger and Ralph Bush of the German Bauhaus Style.
He finished his Master of Arts studies on “Technological Analysis of Abul Qasim’s Treatise on Ceramic” at Institute of Fine Arts of Marmara University in 2002.
Just after his graduation, he established the Production Research&Development Department in “Öz Çini” ceramic factory in Kütahya. Between 1971-1975 he worked as a researcher, designer, planner, and director in Istanbul Porcelain Factory. In 1976 he established his first “Tuna Ceramic” design atellier in Bursa-Yeniceabat village, which is known as the first atellier established in Bursa and İznik in the Republic Period. With his own recipes and authentic methods, and by using quartz clay, the forgotten peculiarity of İznik ceramics and pigment and glaze decorations of old times, he produced ceramics. His traditional replicas were displayed in three posters of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and were exhibited in Budapest, Copenhagen, Krakow, Prague, Damascus, Aleppo, Amman as part of the “Plastic and Traditional Handcrafts of the Republic Period” events in 1983
